  • Jordan Peele, Yay or Nay?

    I used to work with Jordan. He is the epitome of a Good Dude. Back in Amsterdam in the early 00s at an american improv comedy club called Boom Chicago. Jordan was a cast member for a few years, I was a bartender. Jordan smoked more weed than any of us and that was a fuckin accomplishment in itself.
    I have never known anyone to be so fucking electrifyingly funny on stage, and so quiet, humble and almost shy offstage. I spent many a night tending bar while a very stoned Jordan sat at the end quietly keeping me company and drinking water.
    We had a halloween party once and he came dressed a Blade - fucking killer costume.

    All these years later I can't believe that that good dude is where he is at now. He is truly deserving of all the accolades, fame and $$$ that's coming his way. Just a solid dude.

    Man, thank you so much for posting these. I have gone deep down the Barry rabbit-hole. I love everything about this series - and i don't make beats. The digging aspect is what gets me - that is my fucking reality right there - endlessly trawling opshop dollar bins.

  • Instagram Ads. Out of control.

    I was an Instagram early adopter. Pre-Zuck. I used to like the way it was a view into someone elses world. There seemed to be an unwritten rule that you only shot with your phone and that was it really. I followed some random kids in Moscow, some diggers in Tokyo, a girl who collected seashells in NZ. It was fun.

    If todays instagram was on offer then, i never would have signed up. The online marketers took over and ruined it. (I should know, i used to be one), it's a clusterfuck now. and im still there, looking at pictures of watches ill never afford, records ill never find, and posting pictures of my garden.

    I had a point there somewhere.
