I am on some kind of streaming service most of the day, either on the computer in my office or via my iPhone while commuting. Spotify, Mixcloud, etc have totally changed the way I consume music outside of my vinyl collection. I rarely even use my 10…

I'd think that most "cool" jazz type stuff would be pretty well tolerated in most offices, especially piano and guitar led groups. Think Dave Brubeck, Vince Guaraldi, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, etc. Jazz Samba stuff like Stan Getz would probably work…

I am planning a master bath renovation for the spring and I think beer accommodation has become a new design consideration. Thanks.

Definitely used this move a pre-game activity before going out for the night back in my single/childless days. A simple pleasure that feels decadent somehow, I miss it. I may have to try it again for old times sake.

My guess is that it was probably cheaper to make a separate rubber mat, rather than finding a way to attach it permanently to the platter. Plus it allows the mat to be cleaned, or replaced if it got damaged somehow.

The mat is definitely packed separately, I have a 1200 still packed in the box with most of the OG packing material in place. The rubber mat is in the original brown paper sleeve. The platter isn't even mounted on a new, fresh-out-the-box 1200, to p…

"There's three of us but we're not the Beatles" And when Rakim says "You thought I was a donut, you tried to glaze me", I have always wondered exactly what being glazed involved and what was so bad about it. When I think of being glazed…

I have always been super curious about these things but I never wanted to pay the asking price. However I did see a thread somewhere about making a DIY version with a hockey puck, so I bought a couple of pucks off Amazon and gave it a try. After a l…

This new song is his best one yet! I'm so psyched that he has continued this project, can't wait to see what else he has to show us.

From what I've heard (and full disclosure, I work at a major gossip mag) the reason she was singled out was because she started with the "I'm a celebrity" routine and was generally uncooperative. The boyfriend did as the cops asked from the beginnin…

George Benson still has it. His voice sounds great for 71 and his guitar playing is as good as it ever was. Maybe a bit on the "smooth jazz" tip for some people but he is definitely worth seeing, he is doing some dates in the US this fall.

RIP Bad News. I take it most of you guys have read this book, but if you haven't it is a great read. So many awesome stories in here:

Hendrix movie is getting decent reviews and Andre certainly seems to have the the Jimi vibe down. The music thing is a problem but since the movie only covers up to Monterey in June of 67 most his catalog wouldn't be appropriate anyway. I'll catch i…

Stolen from someones FB comment: England's football team visited an orphanage in Brazil today. "It's heartbreaking to see their sad faces, so defeated, with no hope at all," said Joao, aged 6.

Great record, tracks are killer and the vinyl is beautiful. I have only one complaint. What is wrong with this picture and who didn't catch this? You are killing my OCD!
