We've ordered many thousands of sleeves from BU, price is good but they aren't always the same size, i.e. sometimes they fit more tightly than others. We've sent a few orders back because they were too small. I think this is true with most sup…

I just got a bad batch of 3 mil bags from Bags Unlimited. Had throw out a bunch that split right away. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Your box is worth at least $40! If the guy was still there I hope Amoeba at least took the guy's picture and posted it in the buy area with a big headline saying "DO NOT BUY RECORDS FROM THIS MAN."

I moved from DC to LA in 1999 and then back again a year later. Both times I drove my own U-Haul (with no copilot) with my whole collection in it (at least 7,000 LP's). Tried to get first floor rooms where I could back the truck up to window and the…

I'm sure you did already but check Origami vinyl too. They only sell new stuff but these idiots may be dumb enough to go in there and its blocks from where the records went missing.

I can cross-post on Waxidermy if you like. Hope they turn up!

I'm here coach.

As far as bars go the one thing I really think Baltimore has the edge over DC is in the neighborhood dive bar category. Baltimore has loads. Can't remember any of their names though.

I spent all my summers growing up in Mantoloking, NJ which (along with Bay Head) is Wasp Beach but we used to slum it regularly on the boardwalks of Pt. Pleasant and Seaside Heights. I love the Jersey Shore. There are so few places left in the US th…

Finally got this one today - Very nice LP. I also like the "Our Man in Washington" LP. Completely different sound on that one to "Alpha and Omega." Last year I went to an estate sale in DC of the guy who took the cover photo to "Our Man in Wa…

My kid isn't here yet but I remember my parents taking me to see Patton, The Godfather, MASH, Five Easy Pieces, Deliverance, the French Connection, Klute, Sleeper, Bananas, The Sting, Woodstock, Cabaret and Chinatown when I was 8-10 years old. May …

Kind of off-topic but a guy just came into my shop looking for original Garth Brooks CD's. They had to be original pressings only. He struck out here I'm proud to say.

I like it when a cute girl asks me to "play something that we can dance to" because that leaves it wide open.

It's a blues tune but one of my all time favorites is "Mule Kicking in My Stall" by Otis Spann. I know this song has been done by a lot of folks but this version is the first one I heard and remains my fave.

I like the fact that he uses a lot of Brazilian samples for most of his tracks. God knows there's enough Brazilian music out there to sample!

It seems more like a bootleg re-edit, same thing on both sides. Goes on for ever. Cool though, my copy is thrashed. I think it might be an original which I believe was Canadian only. The collection I found it in didn't have any records in it after …

From the last week. Mostly field finds. The blurriest one is "Disco Juice."

mixed reactions last week Thanks I was on vacation last week and missed the thread.

It makes sense that alot of post 1988 releases are going to be in demand. The record industry totally turned their back on vinyl around then to try and cash in on CD's so pressing runs of LP's and 12"s were pretty small. Now that there's an upsurge …

Two songs by other Boston bands that give good (to my ears) harmonica - "Give it to Me" - J. Geils Band "One Way Street" - Aerosmith

I can't remember the first one but I do remember going back to my dorm room freshman year in college and doing it to "Feel Like Makin' Love" by Bad Company. Just call me Mr. Subtle (it worked though).

Even though they both started in 1999 - The Sopranos Soulstrut

Can't remember if there are sirens but the intro to the Replacements "Kids Don't Follow" features the Minneapolis Police Department.
