I wonder if anybody at Motown held on to the Here, My Dear TV commercial? Woah...there was a commercial filmed for Here, My Dear?!? Can anyone who's seen it offer a synopsis or, better yet, a youtube/dailymotion link to this ad?

Hey there - can anybody tell me whether Starvue - Upward Bound LP has ever been reissued? Not sure about an LP reissue, but the Upward Bound album was reissued on CD by P-Vine Japan a few years back. It can occasionally be ordered from DGA, though…

What the word on this family. One album??? I copped the Airlines/Airplane whatever joint and it had about three joints. Poorman's Jacksons meet DeBarge circa '77. I passed up one of these about a year ago and haven't seen another one since. 3 jo…

Hutson seems to be fairly unappreciated in the world of Soul to some extent. I mean, for somebody to come in and fill the shoes of Curtis Mayfield is no easy task. And to have such a great solo career following that, it seems like he should have b…

Yes! There are so many gems in his catalog; every one of his albums has at least 1 bona fide classic on it, if not 6. It's tough for me to pick a favorite LH album, but I have to go with Closer To The Source. That LP is solid from beginning to en…

You, sir, are the Debbie Downer[/b] of the comedy genre. Seriously though, I thought Superbad was a hilarious return to form after the disappointing and overlong (in my eyes, at least) Knocked Up.

I was a big fan of the Daft Punk/Super Discount/Cassius/1st Wave? French touch genre, so I really looked forward to the Justice debut CD. I couldn't get past 2 full listenings of the album...thought it lacked melody and "the funk" present in the be…

Let's play "Spot the utterly random marcofunk purchase". Here's my vote: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320172117654 " Hey make sure this is the real funk/soul & plays all the way good"

included a blurb about how he needs to make sure these records are *genius* funk or soul.

A cursory net search reveals that this is being re-issued on P-Vine sometime next week. Superfly Records is selling the original LP for 50 Euros; there is a clip of "Hot Summer Madness" on said website. Quite nice early boogie-sounding tune with r…

I'm intrigued. 70's (blue-eyed/marina) soul? Similar to Hall and Oates? John Valenti?
-
That's a sweet track! Very odd combination of tunes on that EP. The Peg cover on side B is also pretty nice.

Hey SG, long time no talk. I got no UK Players for you, but I've been digging the British Moder as of late. Any other good UK 80's LPs you can recommend. Light of the world is doing it for me this morning Hey Guz: Good to hear from you. Two exc…

THE PAYBACKS[/b] This is great suggestion. However John Doe holds down a monthly night called "The Getback." I wouldn't want to confuse anybody locally. - spidey How about PAYBAX ?

This track is THE HAMMER! Seriously though, I kinda dig it. Real punchy, immediate sonics on the snares and hats.

Dude's only got 2 main albums.

I was ripping an old stack of CDs and came across their Greatest Hits. I forgot how much I enjoyed these dudes. Never had a need to look beyond their 8 great songs... but yes... NO SUGAR TONIGHT! Most people would consider "No Sugar Tonight" one …
