Excellent mix, it takes some skill to go from Toni Tornado to Fudge Fingas via an obscure version of Everybody loves the Sunshine! What was that big-band tune -- so refreshing to hear that style sans chez. Do you mean this:

I think that I know a little bit about Brasilian music, but you guys.....wow, just incredible, like all your shows! Thank you so much! I need that Helio Matheus remix to play out!
-
Got this now. The main track is really similar to Airto's Toque Da Cuica.

100% bootleg. The seller of that copy on ebay is a DJ I know in London, he's kind of an arse actually; he once had me trek down there to sell him a few records only to flip some "I didn't ask for these" bullshit when I arrived and left me with next …

Doisn check your PM's.

This mix is awesome! Thanks for posting Big Chan! Now, I hate to be that guy, but could somebody tell me the track before Change's Hold Tight? It has a female vocal & lyrics are "step over the line, i'm playing with fire, now don't be shy...…

This floated around on the internet a few years ago; supposedly some tapes were found from the same era as his Racional recordings of unreleased recordings that were dubbed as Racional Volume 3. I have tried many times to get the rights for R…

Nice! will check this out. I have been caning Yosaku's remixes of Atoa Atoa & Mirandolina since they dropped.

Slightly Fela - R: Has anyone checked out the mashups on this site: http://afrobeatles.com/ It's The Beatles blended with Fela (aptly titled The AfroBeatles). I think some of them are amazing!

This one snuck in near the end of '010 for me - a brazilian misturada of Ain't No Stopping Us Now, Chic & The Bee Gees:

JoeMojo said:This is pretty tough: I just picked up the 12" of this b/w Amigo Branco - seriously heavy! Also, this video of Sonia Santos performing Speed is pretty cool (trippy eyes @ 2.24):

MoogMan said:Great selection! Thanks for sharing. Is the #8 video by Dom (from Dom e Ravel)? Also, what's the #20 song? #20 is Franco - Lagrimas. Same Franco that did the tune Ei Voce Psiu. I'd like to know #8 as well!

Breez said:That Toni Tornado joint (#7) is INSANE!! What's the song title? Podes Crer Amizade. Nice videos utters! Loads of classics in there.

Nice mix man! I hadn't heard that Matheus tune before - wow! the percussion break reminds me a lot of the IRP-3 tune Tema de Soninha. Quinteto Ternura have a few 7"s, the other one of theirs I like a lot is called "Linda Manha" - I can't find…

This remix of Celebration Suite by Airto at 12.01 am new years day. It feels so good to start the year on a high!

Yeah that's the one. I'll end up with a copy eventually ;)

Somebody please sell me the Wando 12". Not the LP, the 12" on Brasilia.

Tim Maia performing Que Beleza off his Racional LP's: b/w JoeMojo said:I posted this a couple months ago but it's worth a repeat... Anyone who wants a copy of this, holler.

I don't buy it either. This video comes c/o a mate in Glasgow (I don't know the nutter who headbutts the glass) & it didn't cause that much of a depression in his (evidently thick) skull:

I was supposed to be going to the protests in London today, my university were laying on free buses down and back, thought of having a free day to go record shopping :D But, the issues surrounding tuition fees highlight a deeper problem; The…

Don't sleep on later Rita Lee stuff, it's far easier to get than her earlier records too. Evidently it's more disco/boogie orientated, loads of people get turned off by that, but I really dig it.
