  • Good one, I only knew her from this comp: Other: And I recently purchased this book, which is full of record related girls:
  • Yes indeed, Jazz Blues Fusion is a good album and Change Your Ways is the best track on it. What I highly recommend is the track 'Pusherman' on The Latest Edition Lp, it's a really funky track with some tight drums and great hammond playing.
  • I saw Seun Kuti perform live last year and it was a very, very good show!
  • And actually, there's a remark I should make. Jean Kluger and Roland Kluger are brothers, but never actually worked together (apart from a small period in the early 60s, when they took over their fathers record company 'World Music'). Jean started h…

  • Hi It's a pretty tough job to put together a discography of El Chicles stuff, since the guys used lots of different names, there weren't always the same players involved within the sessions and so on. But I once started with putting together a disc…

  • Funny thing actually, because my moms has been looking for all possible versions of summertime for a while. She's very glad with the mix. I'd love to hear one of these with versions of ain't no sunshine, fever or sunny...
  • Anyone down with that James Last version? It's off Well Kept Secret...raw flute business! Jup, I have it on 45. I digg this one!
  • I put back Heaven Sent & Ecstacy in a goodwill because I thought I wouldn't like that eighties stuff...
  • Found some nice records at yesterday's flea market: Eddy Mitchell comp on Barclay The J.C. White Singers - Come alive for Jesus Lp => Great gospel/soul/funk album on Savoy The Davis Sisters Sing Authentic Southern Style Gospel Lp => Another…
  • I can highly recommend John Mayall - The Pusher Man from the 'The Latest Edition' Lp.

  • Yeah, I think Andre Brasseur is still touring around with his multi-sound organ. He has a website too, just google it. Special-230 is very easy to find actually... it was rereleased on the b-side of early bird, in the 70s or so...
  • An Andre Brasseur track you need is 'X'. It's a 45 only and hard to find.
  • I'm afraid sarko is going to win. He's the guy who said the suburbs should be 'cleaned out' during the riots last year. I'm curious about what the 7 million Bayrou voters will do...
  • Nice finds. How's that Bobby Bean Sound & Singers?
  • If everything goes well, I'll be a B.A. in Journalism in june. And next year I'm probably starting image & sound editing studies.
  • Yeah, the single sounds great! Really looking forward to the new Lefties Lp. And I also want to see them live again. They're awesome on stage.
  • I've been after that Hein Huysmans for a while and finally managed to score one for cheap. Great jazzfunk vibes from Belgium. Both library lp's are double lp's on Command records. The Dick Hyman sucks, the other has its moments.
  • Yes, it's a pretty solid album. I have it because I wrote a review about it for a website, and I was supposed to do an interview with the man. I was five minutes away from his house when the label called me to say he was ill and wouldn't do any inte…
  • These are common 45s, but have been on my turntables all the time for the last weeks: Eddie Kendricks - Keep on truckin pt I & II (Tamla) => Solid tune with vibes on it. From the S/T album VIP Connection - Please love me again/West Coast Dr…
  • I really like Johnnie Taylor. I only have two of his 70s albums, 'eargasm' and 'rated extraordinary', because his albums are pretty hard to get over here. Anyway, I like these albums (the hit 'disco lady', and the funky track 'love is better in the …
  • I'll probably go to Holland for a few days this summer, so I might as well come by and have a few drinks.
  • I must have been 13 or so when I got this:
  • I have the second version, with Hank alone on it. I can't see any differences between my copy and the one on popsike, so I guess it's the same issue. The links to the King discography on the both sides now website seems missing, it keeps forwarding …
  • I just recorded a 60 minute mix of JB (related) songs. It's very difficult to capture this legend's entire repertoire in a one hour mix, so this is definitely not a 'best of' nor a collection of my favourite JB songs, neither is it mixed supergreat.…
  • Man bites dog is Belgian indeed (it was released here as 'C'est arriv?? pr??s d'chez vous'), and it's an amazing film, I should see it again actually. La Haine... I can't recall how many times exactly me and my friends saw the scene with dj Cut Kil…
  • Thanks!
  • I think a lot of these ideas would work really well. Big co-sign on the Mayfield thing, Euro rare and Japanese rare reports. Second that! The Curtis issue is a great idea, I think. I'd also be interested in stories and pictures from those collecto…
