How to tell OG vinyl from reissues
EIGHTY

Hello,
I have been collecting records for awhile but not really paying attention to see if they were OG's or reissues. I was wondering if there was something I need to be looking out for when I go out next time. I have been told that records with a thick heavy feel are most likely OG pressings. While thin records are most likely reissues. I have moved my focus in attaining OG pressings from now on, which I have been told is really hard to do.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

This, for sure. If the sleeve is a thin glossy print, it's probably a re-ish. Bar codes are a dead giveaway for anything that came out before the 80's. Also, if it's used and you can look at the label sometimes you can tell the label is a later pressing or it just looks like a crappy reproduction print job of the original. Also look at the part of the sleeve where the catalog number is. If there's a little box around it or any kind of visible alteration, probably a re-ish. That thick cardboard sleeve is usually the best indicator though.
Vertigo label: worthless
Strata East label: worthless
1. If the inside ain't white, it's probably alright.
2. If it smells like dust, then don't you fuss.
3. Bar code? Don't pay a load.
4. Paste-on cover? Fork it over.
5. If the seam is split, you gots the grit
6. Unless its wrapped in heavy cardboard, it most certainly is to be ignored.
7. If the mildew is present no need to be hesitant.
12. If the covers not ragged, think twice before you bag it.
23. If it smells like Charles Slocumb, you're bound to get open.
24. If there is a website on the other side, put it back and save your five.
27. Looks too mint? Probably in-print.
Nah'lidge....
Awesome! Please post the whole 30... I'm dying to know.
29. If the photos look pixelated, you must then hate it.
30. If it says "Free Download Code Inside" put it aside.

@Laserwolf- I live in Hillsboro and have been trying to make my way to your record store but the hours conflict with my work schedule. Are you ever open on the weekends?
