listened to this like three times a day for the past week or so - the whole Waka LeBron tape is pretty good (You A Lie is another favourite track)....despite no Lex Luger
Spending the dry end of year/beginning of new year release schedule catching up on stuff I missed when it was released so a late pass on this but the Boldy James tape is a proper unexpected pleasure - most interesting production in a while.

Feelin' this, mostly 'cause of the sample. ("I might give out, but I'll neeeeeeeever give in / We might as well be frieeeeends, yes we had." #soulman #coolin' (I think)
Yes to Extraordinary G's and facemelt at Starlito the musical. I truly do celebrate his entire catalogue.
Herm. King Louie has put out a ton of good music over the last 12/18 months - definitely recommend checking the two ManUpBand best of comps on DatPiff.
Anyway, back to late 11 discoveries, loving Shady Blaze's verse on this.
Also, wish there was more Tree on youtube, last couple of collaboration EPs he's done have been great.
Is that a harpsichord sample? Getting strong Arthurian vibes from that.
You know what? It just could be (or at least that setting on the keyboard). More harpsichord samples is near the top of my bring in back in 2012 list alongside steel drum and accordion samples. And more Arthurian vibes.

I like this a lot. I've remained kind of immune to Freddie Gibbs' charms thus far, and Madlib is of course the Grand High Vizier of The People's Democratic Republic of Hit And Miss, but this is a pretty solid combination.
