Phone Call Yesterday (Record Store Clerk Story)

Got a call at the shop last night.

I took out a record to play 2 days ago. It was the Rolling Stones Some Girls. I left it on the turntable, and today it was warped. Do you think someone warped it?

Err, maybe the sun hit it and warped it.

No! No sun, same as it is stored at 65o. Do you think someone warped it?

I don't know, perhaps the turntable or the amp was hot and..

NO! It is no where near the amp. I think someone warped it on purpose.

Err, I don't know how or why someone would do something like that.

One of my enemies might have come in and done it. Do you think someone warped it on purpose?

I don't know.

Do you think they might have?

I don't know.

They could have, right?

    It was the Midnight Ninja Warp Avenger, for sure. Last summer I left some records on a window sill and...you can guess the rest. No signs of forced entry, just some warped records, a faint whiff of throwing stars and footprints on the ceiling.

    One of my 45's was mysteriously warped, this was about 8 years ago.

    Coincidence?? I think not.

    This 'warping of the discs' occurs all over the world and They are trying to cover it up.

    Sounds bad.

    We know that millions of dollars that Homeland Security gave to local police departments to prepare for terrorist attacks have been used to suppress the OWS movement sneak into people's homes and warp records.
    I don't think anyone will be surprised when it comes out that local police depts. have been spying on OWSers warping records using powers they feel they have under anti-terrorism laws.
    Most cities have joint FBI/Police anti-terrorism task forces. Are they mobilizing against OWSers? to destroy record collections? You can bet on it.

    No, we used to call stores up and ask them that long before Quick Change ever came out. But I do truly love that movie something fierce.
