Yes, I am using the SS collective to educate my dumb ass about late 80's early 90's music.

This is a local Dallas artist and can't find a thing about them on the internet...possibly for good reason.

Yay or No Way?

I say turd. Sounds like a Nemesis knock-off to me.

To me? I say no way. Though, I could see my self dancing like Rosie Perez in the opening of "Do The Right Thing" to that second download link.

I like a lot of rap and if I discovered something worth releasing I'd try to get that done one way or another with someone who's in that market.

It's usually the stuff that I listen to and think "I don't get it" that I post here with hopes it has some redeeming value to someone else.

A re-issue of the Xian psych LP by Search Party was released on the "Rapturedelic" label in the 90's.

And I'd really like to hear something that truly sounded "Rapadelic".

First track is channeling Geto Boys in terms of delivery. 3rd track is atrocious.

I've never really liked this record...has a great look and seems like it could be something just like a lot of Dallas rap from that era. Unfortunately, the Metroplex was fond of the live bass/guitar and drum machine sound that hasn't aged well for the most part.

I want rapadelic quality releases as well...Rich, have you heard of the label Anticon? Lots of folks here will clown on them, but some of the earlier releases on the label are great examples of weirdo hip hop influenced rap stuff.

I can picture Rock jamming out to some of pedestrian's work. But is that more rap influenced hip hop?

  • Anticon jokes aside, the first one was cool, the others not so much.
