Im babysitting my co-worker's cat for a minute.
I was hyped to feed it a whole fish like some Tom and Jerry shit, but he told me thats not the case.
They have to stick to a familiar diet or the shits will get wierd.
My Grandmother had two cats, one was mostly in the house chillin on some Fancy Feast shit and the other would stay outside until the evening eating birds and stuff. This was Long Island.
Mr. One is an old cat and just chills to himself.
Im not an animal dude, but ive been around cats enuff. I dealt with two when i was in Manhattan.
Kinda excited.
Ive entertained the idea of adopting a Blue Russian.

I had to feed my gf's cat across town once every 2-3 days and clean its litter. It was disgusting. The cat seemed to show absolutely no appreciation.

I give them the cheapest cat food (cans and dry food) that they will accept. I am aware that It's a money driven decision. Also i don't believe they care/appreciate the difference between canned food and, f.i., fresh salmon.
Too much of that schitt is bad for em though.
Most mass produced cat food contains all kinds of suspect schitt.
Cats also rep chicken and rabit for days.
These things are NAGL for cats (it won't kill it, but it'll piss em off): Milk (cats are lactose intolerant), Mushrooms, Grapes and Raisins, Garlic (raw, cooked, and powdered), Yeast Dough (they get mad bloated), Mustard seed, Onions, Onion Powder, and Chives, Macadamia Nuts and Walnuts, Raw Eggs, chocolate (they don't ride for caffeine).
But this is really what does it for our cat - a dog brush:
I love cats but I'd never want to have one in a city environment except if there's a big garden involved and the cat could run around outside all day. A cat who's confined to an apartment is a terribly sad thing. Those are not real cats but some sort of zombies. The "Doesn't shit on the street" argument is actually a strong negative to me as those litter boxes really stank the hell out of any urban cat owners house or apartment that I've ever been to, I could never deal with that. As far as "Not as aggressive"... a female friend of mine woke up one night with her cat sitting on her chest and staring straight at her. When she tried to shove her off, the cat jumped in her face and proceeded slashing her face to a degree where plastic surgery was necessary to restore my friend's features. I know, this sounds like some made up shit out of a Dario Argento movie but it's not.
massive cosign on this............
Co-signature on the brushing, especially in the heat. But tread lightly. Some will let you know they have had enough by ripping your hand off. Others will just get up and walk away.
Yeah, i'm semi-crazy about it, no problem.
There are a couple of Bengals near my work; they are amazing beasts.
Enough with the phony caring and feelings for indoor cats.
It's well known that indoor cats live much longer lives. Sure, some of them would like to be outside, but degree of domestication is up to the owner, i suppose. Even a completely indoor cat is able to be forced outside and able to survive. This isn't a particularly domestic animal.
if your litter box is stinking, you're not doing your job and odds are the cat will mess with it. they are mad finicky.
check this lil guy out
One of the best record trades I ever did. Highest recommendation.
sabadaba or the cat?
Perhaps it's a dominance thing. You gotta put that bitch in his place somehow. As to how you do that with a cat, I got nothin.
if he does it again i will scold. its too hot to smell doo-doo in the house.
Clean the spot good, ie bleach. If he considers it a marked spot, that piece of the floor is the new litter box.
We went through a spell of not being home very much and the male cat started to show his disapproval by pissing out of the box. We made more of an effort to be at home, give a lot of attention when around and took the lids of the boxes for easier access (that was a tip from a few sites).
Despite popular belief, cats do need attention; maybe in adifferent amounts, but still. A domesticated animal is a pet no matter what the species.
