What would you mix into Daylight by RAMP?

You're rocking RAMP - Daylight. You wanna keep heads nodding at circa 85 bpm.

What do you pull out of the crate...

  • not sure of the exact BPM's, but maybe something of a similar vibe such as gene harris "losalamitoslatinfunklovesong" or weldon irvine "i love you". maybe chocolate milk "time machine"? fatback band "feed me your love"? sort of breezy, jazz-ish soul.

I'd skip playing RAMP entirely to ensure nobody falls asleep and just drop Sleeve - My Life at a nice 100 BPMs

Here are two suggestions for tracks with the same feel:

(I've always thought this one was like a long-lost RAMP track, the keyboard player has a similar style to Philip Woo. I've got a spare copy if anybody's interested!)

(this one starts with an A sus 13, same as Daylight, so it should work nicely).

    Cheers,
    Tom

needs to some squelchy bass to follow. That'll keep the head nodding.

    starvue - body fusion

seems your'e looking for obvious things that won't fail.........

I myself would flip shit and mix up something completely unexpected.......it all really depends on how you want things to change up/build/drop, and the place of the individual tracks in your set........do whatever you feel instinctually. SO MANY things will work

Fost'un is used on dem "Fusion, batches!" mixes IIRC. Niceness. Kendricks I've had in my head for years and never known what it was as I'd remembered the lyric wrong. Cockney voice>Faaaanx!/Cockney voice>
