I'm not saying its the best albums ever, or that it broke new ground, but it has some nice tracks. "I'm really smoking" has that whole Rolling Stones style bite. I'll admit side b and the ballads are pretty corny, maybe just an aquired taste.
On a related tangent, who's got love for Daryl Halls first band Gulliver? Recorded in Philly, its pretty dead on 60s rock. Rosie Come Home is my shit!!
Actually...Dary Hall's first band was the Temptones, who recorded for Arctic:

I have listened to Gulliver 2-3 times,
trying like hell to get into it. I just cant.

Some of the rarest 45s on the label...
Daryl Hall is on the Electric Indian LP (on keys) and also turns up (on vocals) on the Alliance 45 (most of the same guys).
Number 1 Pop and R&B, which was kinda some shit for a couple of white dudes in the 80s. No Carl Perkins, but still.
Hell, I'll even ride for late-period shit like "Possession Obsession." Not "Downtown Life," though; that one is never as good as I remember it.
I listened to this this morning, 2 tracks I really like.
