    Pick a record that you think is good and goes for $100 nowadays? Pick any record and dream you'll only have to pay $100? Name a good record you payed $100 for?

    Yeah... just buy a record that's worth a $100 that you really want. How about Roy Ayers - He's Coming. If you don't have that, just go and buy it.

    two of the $100+ items on my wish list would be:

    Agitation Free -- Malesch (Vertigo swirl)
    Pharoah Sanders -- Pharoah (India Navigation)

    I doubt either can be had for $100 these days, but this thought experiment brought both to mind (as well as a bunch of mono Blue Notes that I know are far beyond this range like Out to Lunch).

    not strictly thought experiment. I won about dozen $7-$10 decent old jazz records, verve & impulse isht, on an e-bay auction that really wasn't gettin any notice from anyone besides myself and I thought I was hittin some decent paydirt and then the dbag backs out on it. Now I'm like fk it I just wanna drop the whole thing on 1 killer piece rather than screw around.

    Always seems to have ringwear. $100 would be a damn good price for a mint of this wouldn't it??
