Me & my wife were going to name my daughter Elise at first but then wound up naming her Erys (a combo of my name & my wife's name.) Elise is a pretty name that I've always liked.

I see. So, uh...What nationality is that? What your interests are?

Seriously, though, I won't be so gauche as to ask your age but I hope that your high school years didn't overlap problematically with the popularity (such as it was) of the Lidell Townsell jernt.

Back in the late 80s/early 90s when Rob Base was all on the radio, I went to school with a girl named Joy Payne, and oh lord, she never heard the end of that shit.

I found that name foxy until I lived in northern Texas for half a decade ??? my god but there must have been a mandatory stoned-married-couple-Rumours-throwdown-sesh circa about 1988, cos I met enough 22 year old Rhiannons to ruin that shit for life.

I went to my nephew's high school graduation a few years ago and 80% of the girls in his class were named either Kayla, Michaela, Ashley or Jeniffer.

Most of the rest were Tiffany.

In a staff of around 40 people at my job, we have 5 Kaylas. Well, 4 Kaylas and one Kaylee. No, 2 Kaylees. And 4 Kaylas.

I worked the front door at an event last week and was thrown off by a woman named Karena.

Not pronounced like Karina, it was pronounced Karen-ah.
