    The message had a little skit like outro in the video with street sounds, dialogue with cops and a bust that predates that.

    But that wasnt a separate track like LLs proper skit.

    True, but it is a produced audio skit, maybe not the first skit committed to wax, but a rap skit, nonetheless. Could make it the first rap skit. Doesnt the wild style soundtrack have skit like intro moments as well - the stoop rap or the basketball throwdown?

    The wild style stuff would have been lifted from the movie. Not made as single track in the studio.

    Actually, come to think of it - the hustlers convention lp is one big rap skit. Thats what put the skit in raps dna.

    i always thought that the skits on David Porter's Victim Of The Joke LP were the inspiration for a lot of skits in hip hop. 1971.

    there's a skit on the Kurtis Blow 'America' album called m.c. lullaby. its a single track, 30 seconds of an emcee diss played in reverse. might predate 'El Shabazz'.

    edit - yeah, it predates it - it was released a month before 'radio' in 85.
