Played it loud on commute home from work yesterday. Will probably be doing that again today!

It's been on rotation. Played it at my friends bar the other night and had no less than 3 people ask what it was.

    Thanks Thes, thanks Day.

I don't listen to too many mixes. Glad I listened to this one.

Damn... this mix is definitely shitting on my office right now, but not quietly at all. Always solid work Day. Big ups to you guys for all you're doing at PL70... very impressive.

Great mix - as always. Lovely cover versions of classics, and I like the way the mix moves around genres without anything ever seeming unnatural or out of place.

    Props.

You are a very talented individual.
Can I ask what you used for echo/reverb on this?

Starts good, gets really brassy and then gets better. What was that big-band tune -- so refreshing to hear that style sans chez.

The second track on the mix is this (after asking Day about it):

Listening to it out of the context of the mix, it doesn't sound quite as good somehow. Take that how you want it.

    very much like mix

  • Excellent mix, it takes some skill to go from Toni Tornado to Fudge Fingas via an obscure version of Everybody loves the Sunshine!

    Do you mean this:

This shit is definitely nice. Selection is proper, mixing is on-point. Props all the way around.

I've felt the same thing with many tunes i've tracked down after hearing them in mixes... something about the particular context in which you hear a tune can make it sound just that extra bit special.

  • We had this thing playin LOUD via the MBP at a beachfront bar in Paraty/Brazil yesterday. Perfect vibe for where we are at right now.

    Again, Thanks!

Thanks everybody. It actually took me about 4 or 5 days to put this together in a way that made sense and kept the same vibe. Trying to make something that you can still rock years from now without the music being dated/played out was the goal. I'm glad you guys are feeling it.

I used a combo of this

    +

some standard plugins for the drops.

As far as a tracklist, I hadn't planned on including one. Pretty sure these will be pretty easy to figure out :tunes:
