Manchester United is set to expand its commercial operations by moving to new offices in Mayfair, London...

Shame they are not paying the ??80 per square foot rent back into the Manc economy...

They are going to end up like Radio 4:

So Messi is still God I see.... I guess we'll have to wait another season before he signs for Spurs or Toon in order to pursue new money making challenges.

if barcelona maintains its form they should win everything this year
messi is still there for a while
i am worried about the coach and dani alves wanting to move after this season
    that would hurt us
it's crazy to think of leaving because your team is too successful

    btw duder
are you really pissed about rosicky i just saw a recap of the newcastle game focused on his mistakes and it was terrible
they should have played ebou?? right away
however i feel the CL match will be unfair, van persie is back but nasri is gone...
i think Bar??a will take bendnter anyday of the week
    will Song be back?

I only started to support Arsenal because they beat Liverpool to the league title way back when Liverpool won everything with boring regularity. I don't live in London, haven't been to the Emirates, so fair play for forcing yourself to watch Liverpool so you could get some pi??a coladas.

But you are a season ticket holder at Minchery Farm natch!

Wait - you support Barca AND Chelsea? Let me guess, also Ajax, Marseille, Porto and Panathanikos? :D

Ros-sicknote hasn't been the same player since the injury that kept him out for over a year. It sounds heartless, but I think we should have sold him just like we sold Eduardo.
Yeah, would rather see Eboue play. He's got skills, he links up really well with Walcott (as in, he knows that Theo's runs aren't the smartest so he will wait until the young rascal has figured out where the space is before passing), but Eboue's composure in front of goal is poor, perhaps would improve with a goal or something to boost his confidence.
Nasri has been our best player this season, we will miss him.
No idea when Song will be back, looking forward to Ramsey returning though.

Bendtner may yet be the joker in the pack. He's bigger than any player on the Barcelona team, if he gets in the box I reckon he can out-muscle Pique & Puyol, just need somebody to ping a shot in-off the clumsy oaf.

Basically the same could be said for about the last four plus years though and yet they still manage to fuck it up. Goes to show that most seasons it's not the best team that win the CL but the one who times it right. It's why Liverpool and Man U both won it when they were arguably outside the top five in europe at the time and Arsenal failed even when they were the invincibles. Personally this season in Europe it's all about Spurs, if anyone can make a Milan match interesting it's them.

  • pcmrpcmr 5,591 Posts
    i agree about spurs
and last year inter had it's timing right
we won the year before though
but now we are even more threatening up front, with pedro maturing and villa
    the back stays the same....
i mean who would you bet on spurs v bar??a...
i think Real could outclass a lot of teams this year and we man handled them

Really hoped that Aurelio shot would have gone in, just to embarass Chelsea all the more.

Got up early at the cabin here in Tahoe only to find the cable tv not working. Hungover as schitt, I realized my car was blocked in the driveway 2 deep. Hoofed it 40 minutes up to the casinos and watched the game with some haggard old dudes drinking pi??a coladas at 8 am.

Next you'll be claiming that you've been a Liverpool fan longer than pcmr has been Chelski ;-)

I having been pushing for 'Pool ever since Istanbul 2005, one of the greatest collapses in the history of CL football.
    ;-P

LOL. Always glass-half-empty with you dudes innit? ;-P

  • I wouldn't say that Real are that good just yet - they are still finding their feet under Mourinho.
I'd be surprised if they made the final even if they avoid Barca.

Looks like the Tottenham/Milan game will not be as good as expected, both teams have injury problems to players everyone would want to see going into the tie.
I still think Milan have flattered to deceive in Serie A this season and it looks like they are about to be caught up.
Would love to see Napoli take the title - Cavani is some player. I liked the look of him in the World Cup and wished Tottenham threw the money they wanted to pay for Carroll at him. He'll be going for big bucks soon, very much in the Sheringham/Berbatov mould.

Barca will always look favourite but as stated before they have been beaten - and were truly outplayed(defended) by Chelsea a few years back until Iniesta popped up in injury time.

Ha this is brilliant, spent the last ten minutes hypnotised by the many falls of El Hadji Diouf.

I don't really see any English team beating Barca (though Chelsea were robbed two years ago which was amusing until I realised we'd have to play Barca in the final) but a well organised team can certainly do them over as Inter did last year. Real haven't got a chance.

Please, we're going to f*ck them up. Afterall, we've got the English Xavi.

The key to beating Barca is to park the bus in front of goal and catch them on the break. It's not good football, but as that Art of War dude said:

It is an advantage to choose the time and place for battle. In this way you know when and where the battle will take place, while your enemy does not. Encourage your enemy to expend his energy in futile quests while you conserve your strength. When he is exhausted and confused, you attack with energy and purpose.

    and

Who's the bastard in the black?

LOL that English Xavi thing is fantastic, nothing like a bit of hyperbole on a fairly untested young player to turn him into a great. I mean, look what wonders it did for Theo, Reo Coker and the rest. I don't know quite what to expect from the Arse V Barca games though if there isn't at least 10 goals in it I'll be very disappointed. As Jimster says, parking the bus is the answer and should have got Chelsea through, not a tactic I see working out too well for the Wenger Boys.

In other non football related stuff, watched the first three episodes of Boardwalk Empire to try and convince myself that Sky was value for money. Can't say I'm overwhelmed by it so far though good to see Scorsese's fascination with doughy faced man boys continues.

  • I like the look of Gibson - have heard people talk of him being nothing special.
I think he will turn into a very good player if he gets more chances at United.

Can we just go with telling Song/Squilacci to 'do a number' on Messi, and hope Bendtner finally has the blinder that by the law of averages he is owed?

Gibson's decent, he seems to score quite a few of those long range efforts which is great considering Scholes is finally retiring - hasn't really made the step up from playing well in Carling Cup/Friendly/Reserve matches to performing consistently in more high profile matches yet but I think Fergie's going to keep him around long enough to see if he can develop further.
