Looking to go back to school... what is the best paying job option?

  • Go to back to school to learn something that interests you or fills a gap in your knowledge. I plan to go back to school to study languages next semester, but it most likely will have no positive effect on my income as a Flash developer.

The hustle hard in your chosen field advice already posted is the real.

Another side note, I had considered going to school to become some sort of medical career dude a couple of years ago. However, you often have to wait semesters or years to get in to the pre-recs for those career paths because they are flooded with people trying to do the same thing. So, I said fuck it and learned about Motorcycle mechanics instead, way more fun.

You can't drop the slightest sarcastic remark around here without having someone try to pick it up and stab you with it.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to stab you, I just didn't detect the sarcasm in your post.

They make graemlins for the thick ones like me.

  • I start on my masters in library science in January. My work will pay part of the tuition and there are scholarships to be had. Makes sense for me because I am already in the field and know that I like it. Reimbursement is a plus and the degree will allow me to advance beyond what is currently possible.

I would go to two year tech school for:
a certified solar panel/ wind turbine technician or installer
certified Porsche mechanic --> future race moves
certified Honda road bike mechanic --> see above
certified energy star rater ---> your own business

do something with your hands, its more fulfilling.

  • Thanks everyone for:

    1. The serious ideas
    2. The necessary mocking
    3. And the positive energy

I need it right now. I just got demoted in a job that I have been in for almost a decade, and been in this field for nearly 2 decades. I have put my heart into it, and I am pretty asshurt by it all. I have to go part time or quit, so I thought this would be a great time to go back to college because I never finished. We'll see where this all leads...
