I ride for rita lee Hoje ?? o Primero Dia do Resto da Sua Vida from start to finish (ugly cover aside), one of my favorite Mutantes-related lps:
Its predecessor Build Up is probably better regarded by most Tropicalia fans, but doesn't do quite as much for me (despite fantastic arrangements/production throughout). That said, a handful of songs thrill me, including Calma and Tempo Nublado.
As I recall, Atr??s do Porto Tem Uma Cidade gets into more of a 70s arena-rock sound, but is still a whole lot of fun:
not as familiar w/ her records from then on. my impression is she went the pop diva route?

Evidently it's more disco/boogie orientated, loads of people get turned off by that, but I really dig it.
I forgot I had this Rita Lee joint on another comp and dug it the most...
She was a straight up rocker for most of the 70's.
cool -- which records would you recommend from that era, and how would you characterize her 80s work?
Hall & Oates Boogie?
Tania Maria she ain't
I thought you liked "breezy"?
That video is odd ... singing into the mirror pulling scowl faces - cocaine much?
Well at least she was certainly more do-able.
