My choices are all hip hop acts that i'm sure only a handful of people on here will admit to liking, outside of Pun i know these are super obscure picks, but the more mainstream stuff is really the shit i play the most so i'm not about to defend these guys/girls to the death (well maybe Pun).

    Big Pun

    You Ain't A Killa
    Super Lyrical
    John Blaze
    What You Gonna Do
    Off The Books

    Blu

    Soul mazing
    Amnesia
    My World Is
    Cold Hearted
    In Rememberance

    Rise (Demigodz)

    Do You Know Him
    The Wickedest Flow
    I Know
    New York
    Evolution

    U.G (Cella Dwellas)

    Perfect Match
    Main Aim
    Land Of The Lost
    Ill Collabo
    Verbal Slaughter

    Invincible

"Shapeshifters" Album as a whole was really good

Pun murders this shit (pun intended). When that dude was on it, he was unfuckwitable.

I wanna give a shout to X-Clan's second album. Lots of people big up the first one, but I think the second one is terrific, too:

    "Ooh Baby"
    "Fire & Earth"
    "Verbal Papp"
    "Cosmic Ark"
    "Xodus"

yeah Julia is my jam too, I was under the impression we were talking about top 5 albums not tracks... if were talking tracks my list may look a bit different....

and Chan, i concur Another voyage is the ish... hard to pick top 5 when dude has so much heat, my list of top albums are just the ones that resonate the most with me

Pretty sure all three of these groups are generally accepted as quite good, except Achim Reichel, who is generally accepted as good by those who know who the hell he is. And somebody said Prince? RIF

I didn't have a clue Achim Reichel had a krauty phase in his career (possibly because his later output is as popular here in germany as it is annoying).

The Police. One time biggest band in the world. I can't think of single act that sounds anything like them. Bonus points because the strut massive hates them. I ride, especially for the 79-80 live era stuff.

The Strut doth not ride for the Police? I wasn't aware. Sad for me too, bc they're one of my favorite groups ever. Wait, actually, in that case, maybe Strut hate is a good thing??? 8-/

  • actually in the "post a psych banger" thread a few years ago I posted a vinyl rip of AR's "echo" LP and it pretty much got the gas face. I don't think anyone was feeling it, mch to my surprise...

Master of space and time! Good to see him get some attention through the new Elton John CD, actually not a bad effort, might even call it a come back. Not on the same level though as the clips you posted.

    The Police.

I ride, I remember them first time 'round and they were great then. You must approach them without an opinion on Sting The Tantric Saviour of The Planet. The Altlanta gig on DVD is a killer - can't believe they entertained a crowd this big without massive video screens, lasers, animated ufos and the like.
