Anyone heard this yet? One turntable, a loop pedal and a stack of Brazilian and African records. Sounds like a pretty fresh concept at the very least.

very cool
anyone know what's up with his other album? i remember hearing last year he had an industrial-ish album just about done.
also big fan of mixes where you can hear the record being pushed ... not all pro-tooled/ableltoned up.
Litmus test is still amazing to me. Amazing collection of productions and excellently pieced together all by the same dude.
It hath been taken there.
Fantastic mix.
DJ Shadow - "Def Surrounds Us" (Radio Rip) by Some Kind of Awesome
:ohh:
You're kidding, right?
that didn't get past the first round.
Hasn???t his Joshness moved into sample licensing or something (or his partner specialises in this)??? I???m wondering if his reluctance to use samples from any of the million-odd records he has is due to some weird disinclination to pay sample clearance anymore.?? But it???s hurting his work. He should just go back to what he did best. Pillaging the best bits from super-obscure records to make moody beat landscapes for documentaries (I say this as a fan of his early work).?? Or just try his hand at making some boombap remixes. Or interesting DJ mixes. But not that shit.
JOSH: IF YOU'RE READING, THAT 'def surrounds us' SUCKS DONKEY SCHLONG. AND SWALLOWS WITH NO COMPLAINTS.
That Shadow live mix that came out a while ago was godawful. This is great.
Somehow you find a way to post something negative in every thread, usually unrelated to the actual topic. At least you're consistent.
Most things you say can be translated to "I don't own a mirror."
I cap on folks for fun. I don't own any shirts from Mervyns, but I actually like Chemist enough. He's a great dj. J-5 is kinda laughable though, despite their origins that hit so close to home for me. It's all in fun though, don't take the internet so seriously, bro.
Nice mix. I really like his scratching.
and i must say i liked that dj shadow track too, has a strange d.i.y. edge to it. i wish he would have let some real dubstep/dnb/electronic head do the bass and synth work tho, why isnt he collabin with flylo?
That track is indeed terrible, but I was sufficiently prepared, having heard this:

I double dare anyone on the strut to sit through that mix. And I'm saying this as a fan of his earlier work too, believe me.
i actually kinda dig that mix...

Let me understand: you are trying to hate on somebody for fashion-related reasons?
My hair alone is more fashionable than 25 years of you pretending to be arrogantly stylish.
good god we need locations back on this forum.
