"eric b" and rakim
Untrue!
One of those dudes consistently contributed constipated-sounding ad libs!
Yes, Freaky Tah is exempted. He did a good 5 percent of the work, leaving Mr. Cheeks to do the other 95 percent, and those other dudes to just be happy to be there for that "Love, Peace, and Nappiness" money.
I read an interview with one of the other dudes in The Source circa 1995, where he was asked why he never contributed anything.
His response was along the lines of "I am in a crew with two of the best dudes to ever do it, so I need to further develop my skillz before I can actually rhyme alongside them."
you got a link to an article on this? i'm not doubting you in the least, i've heard the rumors and have always wanted to see some of the claims substantiated.
see: any interview with rakim
Care to elaborate?
I'm not a Prakazrel apologist like Faux_Rillz, but I do think Wyclef contributed a lot.
i agree to a point that Wyclef helped with their sound (along with countless other producers), but Lauryn carried this group.
Apart from Wyclef carrying Lauryn.
Boogie Down Productions
WC & the Maad Circle (I don't think Big Gee ever got on the mic)

But Coolio did...so that at least makes this a 'duo', right? For one LP anyway.
^^^^^THINKS "GAME" = TELLING WOMEN "YOU KNOW ME AND JOHN FORTE WERE ROOMMATES AT NYU, RIGHT?"
But I think that Fugees wouldn't have been Fugees without Ms. Hill no matter hoe much Clef svengalied that shit.
LOL--didn't that somehow involve seducing Carly Simon and getting her to lobby on his behalf?
^^ OWNS DUPES OF "WIN LOSE OR DRAW" TEST VINYL; CONSIDERS IT AN "UNHERALDED LATE-ERA RAP CLASSIC".
Fail.
Doug E Fresh & the Get Fresh Crew
Nah.....His two DJ's were good and contributed to a gang of cuts.
And at one time I swear Slick Rick was a full time member.
