I think the acting was better

Except that Joseph Gordon-Leavitt cat is TERRIBLE!

I have never seen him in anything else, but how does he even get work? He's like the new Keanu Reeves.

Dude, he's nowhere near as clueless at Keanu. You ever see "Brick," the neo-noir film he did a few years back?

for a person who frequently has dreams within dreams... and is aware of it during the dream.

this 2.5 hr movie ... ehhhhhhhhhhhh. not so much.

no explanation of the device/ dream machine used to make everybody pop up in the same dream.

without the action/violence scenes id have fallen asleep.

I haven't seen the film, but why do the "oh, that's been done before!" critics always have to throw in their two cents? No shit, everything has been done before.

Yeah, I did--I didn't realize that was him until you pointed it out, though.

And, yo--he was TERRIBLE in that, too.

Oh but do want to give due props to Tom Hardy -- he was rad. I haven't seen Bronson, but apparently it's amazing. Think dude's gonna blow up pretty big.

you are pretty much alone on this. i'm fairly neutral on the guy, but dude is building nerd rep, critic rep, and slowly more pop rep. he's usually considered a solid up and coming actor. the keanu comparison seems off. only time will tell i guess.

Ok, I officially am now in impressed awe of Zimmer's score (even if it was oppressively loud).

Regarding the score, was I the only one that could hear the ticking that would appear at points in the film? I need to re-watch it maybe, but I swear there were clock noises that would surface during dream sequences. There was a lot of auditory connections I thought. Cues for the viewer...

This is in no way responsive to my poast.

Do any of you little dudes have opinions of your own?

  • thropethrope 750 Posts
my opinion is that he's a fine actor. not horrible, not amazing. simply saying you are the first person i've come across on the interwebs that seems to think the dude sucks. but that's how you roll, so its to be expected. i'm not really sure how you expect someone to respond to HES HORRIBLE!!!!. awesome criticism.

Also figured out the ending pretty early on, but still enjoyed watching the whole thing.

Trying to keep this thread spoiler-free for now, but I find this statement funny, since the entire point of the ending is that it can't be figured out, which is why when that final shot went dark most of the audience yelled, groaned, shouted "no way, what the hell!" etc ... so I'm not sure what you figured out, unless early in the film you said to yourself, "Hey, I bet Nolan is going to fuck with my head at the end!"

Actually, I saw it today and figured out the ending as well. That is,

    SPOILER BELOW, highlight to read

    FONT COLOR="white">
About halfway through the movie I said to myself "I bet they are going to end the movie with him spinning that top to see if he's in a dream, and it will end with it still spinning and we'll never know."
    /FONT COLOR="white">

So, yeah, the ending can be figured out like that.

    SPOILER ALERT

    According to
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inception_(film)

you can apparently hear the sound of the top dropping after the credits?

Caught a late night showing, I must say it was good.

Like most, it reminded me of Matrix and Mulholland Drive.
