Pt II: Is it true that DJ Leacy was LeToupt ??
I read that a couple of times here, but wasn't DJ Leacy British, and LeToupt was some french dude.
What was the whole LeToupt story ? Something about a red bike.. a donna summer lp.. the invention of the term breakbeatraer, and him going down in ban history with the likes of Pap ? Anyone care to drop a SS history lesson?

No idea what the track is - sounds a bit Axelrod-ish.
As far as I recall, Le Toupt was a French dude who came on here back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth and started asking about music he'd heard on some of Leacy's tapes, which he described as "breakbeat fast and raer". Because the forum was 99.9% American back then, nobody knew what he was talking about, because Leacy wasn't all that well-known outside of b-boy circles (no pun intended). Le Toupt seemed to find this incomprehensible, and his demands for enlightenment on unspecified examples of "breakbeat fast and raer" became progressively more strident. After someone told him that Leo Sayer's Endless Flight was precisely the kind of record he was looking for, he realised that he was being clowned, and seemed to disappear not long afterwards. By then, two of Soul Strut's longest-running memes were in full effect. I don't know if he was ever banned, though - I guess Raj would know about that - and I don't really remember anything about a bicycle.
Those were funny times.
Le Toupt?

Have you forgotten that I played this mix for you years ago? Old DJ Kruzhem favorite.
Only the first side of the tape was posted here. The other side is just as great.
The Supremes track after Keem-O-Sabe is "Come Into My Life" not "Let Yourself Go".
Side 2 (Nucleus)
