Dudes think you're joking. That "I prefer instrumental Dylan" shit was a real quote.
I'm intrigued. How many of these albums do you stock??
Got it. Some of the tracks are cool others kinda meh'. I'll take this opportunity to express that I'm interested to see what rare Dylan records or other instrumentals anyone has to share. Weren't the two Area Code 615 albums recorded by the session musicians who backed Dylan on Nashville Skyline? If so, they would arguably qualify as "instrumental Dylan".

  • Well, I haven't checked into the personnel (anyone want to help on this??) but that could be some of them sans Dylan from the Blonde on Blonde sessions. I'll have to look into that one.

    You forgot "Turkey Chase."

Not that the song is that great - you're not missing much - but I'm surprised that Dylan has that many instrumentals that you could leave off a few.

Don't really agree, since Dylan himself doesn't appear on those albums.

  • Yeah this list is incomplete, its not my own. I found the compilation while looking for I Was so Much Younger Then, trying to find some instrumentals among the early stuff, its up on that site as well.

Finally, a Dylan album I can really get into!

    Heh.

I dunno that this necessarily strengthens "I prefer his instrumentals" dude's argument or makes him appear that much less of a douche, though. Quite a few of the tracks on that list are just non-vocal takes/mixes rather than actual instrumentals.
