republicans have never been more ass-hurt.

It really is a sorry thing to behold. Still, I'm loving the schadenfreude.

Stupak is a stubborn ass but he sure impressed me tonight.

Especially when some unnamed Republican Rep yelled out "Baby killer" during his speech.

Nevertheless, yeah. Really amazing moment. Congratulations, dudes. Just a step.

Update your talking points. The infant mortality shit was shown to be an artifact of sloppy statistics over a decade ago. When you employ a standardized measure america has one of the lowest rates of infant mortality in the world. The old stat was the product of different nations defining infant mortality differently and the US having the broadest definition.

the american health care system is the most advanced in the world. How many advances in medicine has sweden or whatever the F*ck your country is contributed recently? We got technology out the ass whilst whatever your viking ass country is prolly still using leeches

yeah we have advanced technology that only a handful of well-off people can utilize.

France has the best health care in the world...and they pay a lot less for it than we do. US is like 37 or something in the world. Whats funny is that I bet most right wing dipshit tea bagger fucks cant even name 37 countries, but they know whats right.

yeah Memphis is on par with some thrid world nation's IMRs. Big problem here.
    Not a myth.

Funny thing, Republicans only care about people until they are born.

  • Again: Damn u dumb. That is just a compilation of figures published by governments. The clue that the figures aren't corrected for differences in accounting methodology are the inclusion of countries like Cuba. It would be impossible to do it for a country like Cuba because the necessary information isn't available. All we really 'know' about the Cuban medical system is what the Cuban government decides to tell us which isn't much and isn't credible. It's not like there is anything like a free press which would expose bullshit figures.

  • you're on your way to being a developed nation! congrats!

    1. It is not true that only a handful of people get to utilize the US systems technological advantages. If anything there is a problem with over-utilization. This is something you would know if you had any real clue about healthcare. Prejudices and assumptions are not an acceptable substitute for knowledge.

    2. The US was ranked 37th by the WHO in a report which was more an investigation into how closely health care systems accorded with the WHO's idea of the ideal health care system rather than an investigation into the quality of care provided by those systems. Only 1 fifth of a countries ranking score was determined by quality of care provided and the metrics used were sloppy in the extreme.

    3. France's healthcare system looks F*ck all like what Obamacare has introduced and so I struggle to see the relevance of the reference.
