More Like This (Punky disco-R)

Was listening to some ESG this morning, and "My Love For You" was making me think how this style has kinda come back again. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of more aggressive, faster, "real" punk, but I can definitely get down more when it's more new-wavey, danceable and slowed to a disco beat. I guess some of Santigold's stuff would fall into this category. Rep some other tracks new or old that could be considered club compliant and fit in to this..

Couldn't find a more straight ahead youtube for "My Love..", but I guess this will do. Kinda doubt thats actually what they're dancing to, but maybe..

This style has been "in vogue" for a while. For "new" stuff check for all the DFA and related.

There are tons of old school groups like Liquid Liquid ACR, Pylon, The Dance, etc.

I would even argue groups like Animal Collective are influenced by Liquid Liquid, etc. Their most recent album is like Beach Boys Pet Sounds meets the punk funk sound.

Marilyn & The Movie Stars touch on this vibe on 81's "So Disgraceful" LP. "Romper Room" and the title cut have a punky-disco beat.
