    We used to donate in high school because you got out of class to do it. Then we would skip the rest of the day, smoke a joint, and go to the Pizza Hut lunch buffet.

    did it once, passed out, and got sick for a week. Decided once was enough.

    Once. I thought it would help me get over my aversion to having needles inserted into my veins.

    It did not.

    Still might do it again on principle, but the thought of it really puts me off.

    I regularly donate platelets. The up side is that they replace the volume that they take out so you don't have the hypovolemic reactions common in whole blood donation. The down side is that you're on the needle for two hours.
