i just cant get with the resealable poly bags. i started noticing these years back when dealing with japanese record guys. now they seem to be the go to for certain stores here in nyc. academy being one off the top. i like the tried and true older-thicker-plastic outer sleeves with the open top. may not be the ultimate collectron way to keep my records but its what i know.
I just got a bad batch of 3 mil bags from Bags Unlimited. Had throw out a bunch that split right away. Anyone else ever have this problem?
never had that problem. been using Bags Unlimited for a minute. Just ordered a batch of 4 mil outer sleeves from them actually. But was frustrated that neither them nor labcabin carried the rounded-corner paper inner sleeves... I don't want poly on my inners (or straight corners)
yoigotbeats put me on to indyboxes/finger pop (the best/only source I know with the rounded-corner paper inners), but they only have polypropelene outers.
Ordered in bulk from these guys a while back and was quite satisfied. They don't have the rounded corner inner sleeves though.

We've ordered many thousands of sleeves from BU, price is good but they aren't always the same size, i.e. sometimes they fit more tightly than others. We've sent a few orders back because they were too small.

I think this is true with most suppliers.
Same here. I've ordered a bunch from BU but this is the first order I've seen so many defective sleeves in.
Where would people recommend those heavy 45 jacket/sleeves?
I haven't been able to find these in the US.....I get mine from the UK, and have a friend bring them over whenever somebody is visiting. Weight-wise, 100 sleeves are close to a kilo so shipping them over is expensive.
I'll be heading back to the UK soon, so I'll have a grip of 'em when I get back.

I will confirm. Those are the best jammies to wrap your prized 45s in. I triple-bag my raers with regular white sleeve inside heavy cardboard sleeves inside polyvinyl sleeve.

I'm not sure. I haven't ordered from them yet. I just had it bookmarked for when I need more later.
Looks like they are.
Sleevetown has the 5 mil outer sleeves for LPs but not 45s

I was thinking it was the green ones but I think the gold ones are the heavy duty weight joints.
I buy these from Bags Unlimited.

Sorry....I read your post wrong. I was referring to heavy duty pvc 'bags' for 45s, instead of the thin poly bags that are easy to get hold of.
I house my 45's in a white bag, in a thick white cardboard sleeve, in a thick pvc bag.
