Damn near of all of Bootsy's slow songs are heaters. He's hella underrated on the sweet soul tip.

    albeniz-asturias (segovia's version)

that beethoven piece that is real slow (think it's called funeral procession or something).

Whooooooooooohhhhhhh!!!!! That's my SHIT right there... "When I was a young boooyyy..."

I haven't chimed in yet on in the thread but let me randomly reach back to the stacks and pick something that might fit (cause thinking about it is too hard, there's so much stuff.)

Some random jawns of songs that make me happy and make me feel warm inside

Loving Spoonful "You Didn't Have To Be So Nice"

    Shuggie Otis "Island Letter"

    Cannonball Adderley "Autumn Leaves"

    Os Mutantes "Desculpe Baby"

    Shit, I dunno, man...

Cosine on the Sam Cooke version of "Change Is Gonna Come" and everyone who mentioned "Claire De Lune" as well.

  • on the acoustic singer-songwriter tip, check out this guy from Portland, OR called Reclinerland

Word. Late, Late, in the year...

If I could think of one song to exemplify, in my private mind garden, what it must SOUND like to fall in love, that just might be the one.

  • kraftwerk - computer love

    Steve Davis "La Lune Blanche"

  • Not sure if I would agree with these myself, but they deserve consideration:

Syreeta - I Love Every Little Thing About You
    Stevie Wonder - Visions
Curtis Mayfield - Makings of You
Staple Singers - I'll Take You There
    Temptations - Just My Imagination

  • CosmoCosmo 9,768 Posts

Smokey Robinson - Just My Imagination

  • Dorando "Didn't I"

steve parks - thinking of you

Those are the 2 most touching songs of all time, but I dunno about beautiful and uplifting.

incidentally ... when i was living in texas this gal i know asked me to make her a cd, and i put both these tracks on it

so hard to do this off the top of my head.

    But let's try:

-Richard Davis - Philosophy of the Spiritual

-Milton Nascimento - Me Deixa Em Paz (i think it's this tune, don't have the LP in front of me)

-Tim Hardin - Reason to Believe

-Loren Mazzacane Connors - Blue Ghost Blues

-Pharoah Sanders - Love is Everywhere

-Abbey Lincoln- Lonely House or Afro Blue

-Voices Supreme - We Can Make It Together If We Try

    -Cassiano - Onda

-The Arawaks - cover of "Just My Imagination"

    more later.

Same singer, but the 7" is from earlier in the 70's, the moder soul album is '80 I believe, also very good but in a different way.
