The Pasadenas1988, riding that Rare Groove bubble.Namechecking Marvin, Smokey, Stevie, J5, The Sound Of Philly ... and Horace Silver.UK#5, US#52.This still sounds nice. But the hair, togs and moody stares....not so much.

I don't believe they are referring to Horace Silver. For a kickoff, he's a pianist so blowing [ayo] perhaps not his forte.

Perhaps Horace from "Horace Goes Skiing"?

Haha, that's hilarious. Is it meant to be funny?

Wait... so you can't blow a piano?

No wonder I was never succesful on that instrument.
Side issue: how does a piano qualify as percussion? GTFOOH.
So little hammers strike the strings. So does a plectrum on a guitar but no-one says that's a percussion instrument.
    Ah who gives a shit.

Actually, I listened to Cape Verdean Blues at the weekend and never made the connection.

A quick gander at the lyrics on Goggle reveals so many typos as to render it meaningless.
    Horacle? Are they sure?

That didn't stop some folks from trying:

Okay, so it's a melodica, but it's as close as you're gonna get.

    Can't see her elbows...

b/w used to have something like this as a kid. Must try to find one at a flea market this summer, that thing was fun.

Pickwick, in all honesty.... the Pasadenas, yay or nay?

Remember in the eighties when the Hooters almost made the melodica the new trend for a minute?

Big fat Nay. I know they're paying homage to the sixties soul era, but it still sounds like "modern soul" tripe to me.

I'll listen to Joss Stone quicker than the Pasadenas...
