Stuff from the past week or two. At least half of this came from a quick Record Store Day Eve daytrip to NYC, both LPs and 45s.
That Shep record was a big surprise - the front cover looks like a boner disaster, but it has that great Vanguard '69 sound, with harpsichord, vibes, etc - and Shep's voice is decent. Finally a clean cheap Bobby Fuller!
No offense intended, I liked the second cut. Just my .02 though. Even if it's rare I kind of doubt it's worth much (I think that was what you were asking originally?). I've been wrong plenty of times before though.
in Louisville for a moped rally currently. down the street from where we all met there was this old dude outside looking through records in his truck...i go up to him and ask him if he just bought a collection, he goes on to tell me "yeah, i buy and sell records..i have about 60,000 in my house right there" so i go in...didnt spend much time and i ONLY looked through 45s, but i was happy with my finds and even happier with the price (these were less than a dollar each) all around VG to VG+ too.
The Chitlins - Sugar Woman / Next Time You See Me (Pala) James Brown - Soul Pride 1+2 (King) Jackie Paine - I'll Be Home / Go Go Train (Jetstream) The Leaves - Hey Joe / Girl From the East (Mira) The Unifics - Sentimental Man / The Beginning of my End (Kapp) The Showmen Inc. - The Tramp Pt 1+2 (Now) Grant Green - Aint it Funky Now Pt. 1+2 (Blue Note) Walrus - Tomorrow Never Comes / Who Can I Trust (Deram) Dyke & The Blazers - Funky Walk Pt 1+2 (Original Sound) The Stains - Now and Then / Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind (Lotus) Meters - Cissy Strut / Here Comes the Meterman (Josie) Meters - Sophisticated Cissy / Sehorns Farms (Josie) The Mojo Men - Dance With Me / Lonliest Boy in Town (Autumn) Dave "Baby" Cortez - The Funky Robot Pt 1+2 (All Platinum) Johnny Otis Show - Bye Bye Baby / Country Girl (Kent) Little Caesar - My Girl Sloopy / Poison Ivy (Mala)
I originally wondered about the soundtrack to The Census Taker because I was wondering about Garrett Morris' photo on the cover...I didn't scroll down to notice that Batmon already axed the same question.
Combo of real world, mail box and the Night Owl Record show in PDX, these are just the ones of possible Strut interest, it's been raining flippable indie rock around here too. Good thing, I need to replenish my Pay Pal account for more Ebay goodies.
I'm feeling the Pride for it's Axelrod produced south of the border folkiness.
Stoked to get the Sinbad in a trade, "I Love You" is one of my all-time favorite soul tunes.
Star Wars Dub was cheap and sealed had to crack it to check the color, it's the blue vinyl yeah!
Needed that Menace Soundtrack bad, "Guerillas Aint Gangstas" is my effin cut.
Tom Ze is crazy good, Harry Lang is a caribbean turd except for one good funky jazz tune.

No worries. I was curious about its rarity/value (I realize the two aren't necessarily linked) or even info on the singer/group. Thanks for weighing in.
