I remember reading something where Val Kilmer said he was such a good actor, that he embodied the people he played so well, that he could understand someone like Jim Morrison possibly even better than Jim Morrison.
As far as The Doors Do Disco, "L.A. Woman" is almost, almost proto-disco in the vein of something like "Miss You." But I can't recall whether Morrison actually heard the music. Didn't record some of the vocals for that album before peacing-out to Paris where he passed?

Big stretch but whatever.
Wiki-wiki:
"The album's style is arguably the most blues rock -oriented of the band's catalogue. Following the departure of their record producer Paul A. Rothchild (who dismissed the group's differing style as "cocktail music")."
