Not even trying to be a wiseass, I just own all three and "Check Out Your Mind" takes the prize for me. "We're a Winner" is right up there for late-60's Impressions, too - I never realized that was a studio album until just a few months ago...for years I thought it was a "greatest Hits" for some reason, probably the cheap cover art:
Not to hijack - put who does the vocals on Emotions? That is one of my favourite Impressions tracks EVER. you hear me? EVER! and I don't even know who sings it....shame shame shame
[color:pink] can you say 1500 posts? whoo-hoo! [/color]
This Is My Country gets the individual track awards
Yeah that might be a good way of saying it, cause Young Mods just floors me every time from front to back but I don't know if there's a better song than "Fool For You."

That song is so fucking heavy. And there is little more uplifting than the "woooh wooh woooooh"s on "This is my country"...
I don't know why...it's just one of the most soulful records I own.
Funny - I've been listening to these two albums all week (back to back mostly). I'd have to give the nod to Young Mod's. Those first three tracks slay me everytime and the rest of the album isn't far behind. Both albums are obviously top notch, but there are a few lackluster moments on My Country if I'm getting picky, which I have to be if I'm going to choose one over the other.

Sentimental value as first Impressions album I bought (around 1993), plus "Gone Away" is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful songs ever.
Not really fond of the line "and every woman is a breeder" in that one black power song though. Great sentiment but it sounds pretty corny.
Cosign on CHECK OUT YOUR MIND as an underrated classic.
full co-signage
