I had like ninety minutes today. The full jam out of some out-of-season Wednesday berries.
Store one: flipping stuff I'm bored with. results: Solomon Burke - greatest hits CJ Chenier - let me in your heart Albert Collins - Frostbite Sonny Terry - Sonny is king Chess anthology: New Orleans R & B
Store two: Joe Farrell Outback Syney Bechet and his New Orleans rhythm kings - Jazz Nocturne vol 1 Kenny Barron at the piano and some disco (yet unexamined)
Thanks soulstrut for the partial album quizzes . . . my fingers can fly.
DIE PHUDYS (first album by gemran proggers . .. sounds pretty fun on first lsiten) BIRTH CONTROL - "rebirth" (bonkers organ heavy prog. bit of an earful!) BEEFHEART - "clear spot" (thought it was time i picked up a copy -- great fun. ) AIR (been after a copy for yonks -- bootiful, folky, jazzy soul) BUGSY (first album, not a pathc on his second, but still an enjoyable listen) BJORK - "medula" "VAMPYROS LESBOS" ost (crippled dick reissue - massiera-like at times and highly groovy!)
CHRIS GALLBERT - "sing sing" (been after this for ages and seeing as it's on the new Massiera comp, i thouht i should pick one up before the price doubles! great fun wailing prog pop) NEW TROLLS - "corro da te" (heavy!!) QUO VADIS - "Zeppelin party" (another long time want. brilliant) BIG CHERRY - "come in bonzo" (amazing mentla glam with sitar and strange vocals. my favourite song of 2009) MALCOM CATTO (two 45's from the 'popcorn bubblefish' album - -now i need that bloody 10"!) MICKEY MURRAY - "shout bamalama" (fun nothern soul-y version. this'll do until i find an affordable copy of the Otis Reddign version...)
