Here is my come up and yeah...for free. Got talking with a cat a couple days ago and turned out he was one of the main disc jokeys at the KAZA station here. I was pretty stoked and I still got like 50 plus boxes to pick up from him, but this is just a small sample so far and also, peep the audio track below...
I'm no where done peeping all the boxes I have at the crib right now(15 boxes), been going through them little by little. I even found a couple of funk 45's and some cool psych stuff too. Mainly been all Bolero/Ranchera recs, but some cool staple stuff, like Fania, Tico and Cotique stuff(keep ya'll posted later on)
Here is that audio...(One of the many cool things I've found so far)
deerock: you copped brief encounter, marvin whoremonger, soul expedition, spaced, you can fly on my airplane, lewis connection and other $1000+ grails all at the same place- x100000 b/w b/w april fools.
I was stoked, psyched, amped, bugged and, yes, touched when an old guy in the office appeared at my desk on Monday and gave me these 60s/70s kiddie records because he "knew you liked records". Man, I tell you, the bottom lip quivered for a minute there. One or two I recall from childhood. After a little research, it turns out they could be worth a bob or two as the back of the sleeves have not been coloured in by 5 year olds. I offered the guy some money but he righteously refused. Good man, sir. Once framed, these will make a radical and colourful addition to the remaining empty space on the walls of The Record Room. Enjoy.
I had the 3 Little Fishes and the Puff The Magic Dragon (AKA saddest story evarrr). It's Jon Pertwee doing the narration on the Fishes, IIRC. Must be way over 30 years since I've heard it.
