curious what you guys think James Brown's funkiest album is.or albums if you can't pick 1. Top 3 / Top 5 is cool too.I've heard a lot of his singles and a decent amount of his albums, but there are certainly some classics I haven't given a full listen to.

    Ha! James Brown is too 1999 for Soul Strut.

    I like the Popcorn one.

  • I don't know (or care) what his "funkiest" album is, as the guy who basically made funk what it is... but that said here are my favorites

    "The Payback"
    "On The Good Foot" & "Sex Machine" (both live doubles, indispensable)
    "Does The Popcorn"
    "It's A New Day, Let A Man Come In" (more of a soul LP)
    "Say It Loud"
