So Kalas rant got me thinkin,b,121b,121I honestly can't remember the last time i made a mixtape... jesus, it probably was a mixTAPE... that is f*ckin crazy. I used to be that pause button tape kid, shiiiit, b,121b,121And just laying back and enjoying a good record, a quiet walk with wifey, a joint, damn, even a sleep in.b,121b,121I love my two pre-school sons and place them higher than self but this shit is tough. The compounded lack of sleep over the last 4 years has got me wired.b,121b,121Working on a career plus raising two ankle biters and being a good husband is one hell of a juggling act, how you Papas out there manage to balance it all?b,121b,121B/W b,121b,121My youngest took his first steps tonight. id double the lack of sleep in a heartbeat to see that look on his face again.

    My boy hasn't been able to take a shit since yesterday. He keeps trying to squeeze one out, but its not budging. He's only 5 months old and constipated as hell.

    font class="post"1b,121b,121I've become a work-o-freakin-holic. Lot's of regular dad/husband work, stressful job (industry collapsing) and maintaining two blogs with podcasts etc. I don't get a whole lot of sleep.

    My 3 year old is terrified of shitting. blocked up for days on end then we go through hour long screaming sessions when he needs to shit.it is f*ckin heartbreaking. b,121b, 21we started rewarding him by giving him stickers, he sticks them on the toilet seat when he takes a crap.b,121b,121problem is the stickers keep sticking to me.b,121b,121i took a dump at work today, looked down and bob the builder was sitting on my poo.

    You need help. How people do it without family nearby is beyond me. The in-laws are keeping the kids for the weekend so my wife and I can have a fun-filled NYC trip. Love the little dude and dudette but they are a grind. Messing up my house... fighting.. comeing down with the plague and making us all miserable... refusing to sleep... costing us a million dollars. b,121b, 21You have those awesome moments that make it all worth it, though. 2's enough for me!

    I'm on my first and he's only 3 months now so I'm not even fully aware of how crazy shit's about to get. hahab,121b,121Although, my stepson is 9 and he's a f*ckin handfull. GREAT kid, sweet as hell but he's on this lying trip when it comes to schoolwork that's already got him 2 but whoopings. one by me. I'm calling him my baptism in fire.

    my girl and boy (twins) will both be three weeks old this friday. they were 8 weeks early so they are still at the hospital growing and getting better at eating and everything. too ready for them to come home

    NICU for 2 and 1/2 weeks. It was a dark time in the galaxy but it definitely gets better!

    Thanks guys, it is tough but it's a great feeling when they make big progress. No problems other than some feeding ups and downs. And thankfully, the NICU staff have been kickass.b,121b,121The twins in the crib next to mine have been there for about 4-5 weeks.. I've only ever seen their mother come and visit them. My wife talked to her a few days ago, she's 16 years old and the father has nothing to do with them. img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/718.gif" alt="" /1

Props to that kid. Real world moves for sure. b,121b, 21Speaking of RWM, the wife and I are making some in the parenthood arena. When the time comes for me I know I'm going to be starting a father support group up in this beech. Real Dadz Know the Deal.     My first is due in December! The biggest concern I have is the time juggling aspect, between working full time, being a home owner, a dog parent, and a father is gonna be crazy! Any advice?

    I've had 5 kids so I feel for you newbies peering into the abyss....b,121They get easier to cope with the more you have.b,121Sure lots of stuff goes missing in your life.b,121I used to be all over my 16 track recording system, but haven't touched it in years.b,121Same with mixing,djing, extended digging trips to US and elsewhere, all Saturday drinking and football matches.b,121The kids have made me pare it down to the true essentials. So now I have a music room in the garden and spend an hour each night winding down.b,121And that's it.b,121This is how we turn into our dads.

    Get used to lack of sleep. I seriously cannot remember the last time I slept later than 8am. I have had to pretty much quit drinking entirely in order to be functional for my kids in the mornings.b,121b,121My kids are 5, 3, and 4 months, and it's pretty damn exhausting. Peace to all the daddies who are taking care of their kids.

    Working 9-5 during the week and having an hour long commute, means I get to see my kids for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours a day on the weekdays. I try to get my fill on the weekends, which is why I don't really hang out much anymore. Once in a while I need some time to see some folls, but its relatively rare. On weekends I wake up at the crack of dawn to look for records and make it home in time for breakfast, that's about all the me time I get, apart from staying up late at night on Saturdays. I try to give my wife a break from the kids on the weekends, since I know she is with the kids most of the week while I'm at work. I think its real important that we both have time to ourselves away from the kids, helps maintain the sanity.

    taking my now 3 year old son to see Thomas the Tank show, as it's here in town, Thomas is his LIFE. conversation starter, carrier, and finisher for him.b,121best way I described it to him was "the real thomas is coming" so now, that's all he has to say to people, "I"m going to see the REAL thomas".....b,121not much else matters to this boy.

    Music is the only habit I didn't quit when kids came along. Kronnick puffs...gone. Cigarettes...gone. Even coffee...gone. But music, well it's the only one that I feel will enrich my little folks. Shit, my daughter, Maya, is seven and head bobs to Sun Ra. She's just taken up JazzDance... gotta get her listening to some Johnny Frigo.b,121 My son, Steff, loves to rock out in my truck... true bonding moment.b,121 But before I get all sentimental and pull out the hankie, I should remind myself that they woke me up at 5 A.M this morning screaming "DADDYDADDADDYDADY IT SNOWEDLASTNIGHT!!!!WHERE'SMYSNOWSUITEWHERE'SMYSNOWSUITE."b,121 They were out there for 1 1/2 hrs before breakfast playing in an October snowstorm. img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/melt.gif" alt="" /1
