    What a bunch of jerks!b,121The Stevie bootleg leaves off 2 tracks but includes a 7+ minute exclusive track "Tha Trots" which is a bootleg recording Madlib in a New Orleans bathroom. Shit's flames! (literally)

    i think the layout of each track is pretty bad as well. it just seems like dude got mad high and thought he was stevie doing something new to his tracks. i was bored and pretty much turned off immediately. ive replayed this a few times over the years and still dont understand where this dude was coming from.b,121b, 21there is no soul to that record in my opinion. b,121b, 21glad he made money off of those that bought it. kudos to him.

Its not direct and i like that spin. b,121b, 21As far as "unfunky".......I find it to be quite funky, the same way as Sextant can be "Off-Funky". It not some "Every Tom, Dick and Harry can bob their head--funky". The experimental/naivete of YNQ is what i'm drawn to. I like the fact that's its kinda sloppy and Fat Albert-ish.b,121b, 21b, 21We might just have different ideas of what is funky and soulful. Its cool. b,121b, 21I realize trying to defend YNQ is a dead cause - I dont mind.

    font class="post"1b,121b,121To put people down for not being "deep" enough to go beyond straight ahead music is lame.b,121b,121There;s a big difference between stretching out when you've mastered your instrument/know what you're doing and "noodling" on some "that mistake sounded kinda cool." shit. Not to take away from dude, but I wasn't feeling that album. I liked a couple songs though. Too many sounded like sketches he never finished.
