im kinda ambivalent about them, that documentary was pure comedy though and Rob Trujillo is a demon.b,121b,121i cant f*ckin stand that little hobbit drummer though.
Lars is the worst drummer everb,121b,121the new album is the best one since And Justice but that aint saying muchb,121b,121James voice is like comedy nowb,121b,121Trujillo is dopeb,121b,121long live Cliff
In my private mind garden, they exist permanently in Master of Puppets-era greatness, never growing old. And Cliff never dies.b,121b,121b,121b,121b,121No disrepect to Trujillo, though. I love dude and he's one of the greatest metal bassists ever.
font class="post"1b,121Engineers will probably say this about 90% of the drummers encountered. Not really a valid measuring point for the "greatness" of a drummer.
TRAPPED UNDER ICCCCE!b,121b,121this has been discussed many times hereb,121cliff took the testicles of metallica with himb,121the 5.98 ep was a swansong fluke
The new record is a joke. Not as hilarious as that "madly in anger with you" song...and is that the one where he sings "my lifestyle determines my death style!"? haha!b,121b,121I heard that someone edited out all the shitty parts of the new album and posted it on the internet. Supposedly, it's mostly instrumental! Anyone seen that link? I'd love to hear it.

font class="post"1b,121b,121gunsnroses, too. good music isgood music. and thats all relative.b,121i went through phases my whole life with music...listenened to one thing then another, then on to another, then back to something else. and i usually disavowed the last thing i listened to..."man i cant believe i used to listen to i1that[/i]"b,121b,121then i realized i liked it all at different times for different reasons, but if it was good once, its probably cause it was good. duh.b,121b,121so yeah, i fucked with metallica back in the day. fell off during 'and justice for all' period, although that record was ok.

This may create a shitstorm, but I think the second side of Master of Puppets is one of the best tape or album sides ever. b,121b,121Disposable Heros/ Leper Messiah/ Orion/ and Damage Incorporated =
Master of Puppets on one side of the tape and Kill 'em All on the other. All Middle school long.b,121b,121Just found Master of Puppets at a garage sale on Saturday.b,121b,121Happy Day.

font class="post"1b,121b,121I like the Master of Puppets album. That's it, pretty much.
Ride The Lightning was my High School jams, closely followed by Kill Em All. I even played guitar & bass in a Metallica covers band that would play parties & only do stuff off the first 3 records. Fun times. Motorbreath & Whiplash still send me apeshit. We even did Orion for the High School Battle Of The Bands one year. This is such a retread topic though, everyone always melts down to how great Puppets is, how Cliff was great & how the black album destroyed it all. Those first 4 LPs are bonafide skate rock classics.
I'm not even a metal/rock head and even I recognise the greatness of Master Of Puppets. I like some of Justice though there's a few too many guitar solos on there for me to fully embrace it. I find it funny how everyone's pretending they haven't loved The Black Album at some stage in their lives. Maybe it's because I was always just a casual listener so it means something different to me?b,121b,121I don't think I've heard anything since the black album though and can't say I'm too eager to fill in the blanks.
There are definitely some jams on the black album, they are just slower & generally don't hold a candle to what came before. If Metallica debuted with that in 91 they would be opening for the Smashing Pumpkins these days.
