well, another consideration here is... he's not an actor with a deep resume, he's a young guy whose career was launched by The Wire. It's not a given that the kids from The Wire will have sustained careers in tv and film, and as dubious a choice as this one is from a hipness perspective (and maybe even from a long-term career perspective), I can see going for the highest-profile gig you're offered (which this probably was).

b,121b,121I already went through this long ago, when most of the 1970's SNL cast were taking it to the next level with these classic movie projects, while Laraine Newman and Garrett Morris were forced to settle for appearances on jive-ass sitcoms. Teenage me thought it was a degrading step down; adult me STILL thinks it's degrading, but understands they had to make some money somehow.

I watched the 90210 premier last night. Michael, I mean Dixon, gets into this fight with his Lacrosse teammate and I was waiting for him to come back and drop that fool - but instead he was suspended? And later his teammate stuck up for him?
