Need recommendations on music similar to...

I'm looking for soul and jazz records with a sound similar to Roy Ayer's "Third Eye", Madlib's "Mind Fusion vol. 2", Clutchy Hopkins, etc.. I've heard a little bit of Weldon Irvine and Gil-Scott Heron and I think they have the sound I'm after but I need to look into their records a little closer (any suggestions on where to start). I love Freddie Hubbard's "Red Clay", G Washington's "Mr Magic" and similar kind of soul jazz. I think as far as recent records go though that Clutchy Hopkins is killing it, I'd love to find more music similar to that.Anyway enough of my rambling, thanks for any suggestions

the best Sunday morning album I have heard in years
Check out another Grover album, 'Reed Seed' with Loran's Dance on it.
And the Idris Muhammed 45 version of that song on Kudu is in a similar vein too.
That Grover album is kinda terrible, and I'm one of the few here who hasn't renounced CTI at this point.
The Idris full length w/Lorans - the Power of Soul - is great though.
I know nothing about Clutchy Hopkins though....
I like it. I can't hate on labels per se. I never get to hear what they sound like.
The tone arm lifts just before it reaches the paper. Generally.
you're all heart

Edit: I just noticed my registration date shows 07, I've been hear a lot longer than that. My post count is off too, not sure why.
good looking out, forgot all about that label
I *highly* recommend Clutchy, not sure who he really is but he puts out the best instrumental albums since the late 70's. Dope stuff
yes, you definitely belong on the-breaks.com
Haven't been over there in a while... that was fun
