Right now I'm thinking Prince, "I turned on the radio, it was Joni Mitchell..." I think it goes like that, then maybe he references help me I'm Falling In Love Again, if not, Turn Me On, I'm A Radio is a Joni Mitchell line.
A lot of songs that mention radio and the radio dj, but that's amother thread.
I think James Brown is constantly referencing other James Brown songs. (I think I will always refer to James Brown in the present tense.) So he will shout Cold Sweat, Or I Feel Good, or Sex Machine in the middle of another song. Sorry I don't have any examples off the top.

So Mister, Mister DJ
Keep those records playing
I'm having such a good time
Dancing with my baby...
Play that song called Soul Twist
Play the one called I Know
Don't forget the Mashed Potatoes
No other songs will do
King Curtis, Barbra Lynn and Dee Dee Sharp?
Which brings up all the 60s dance songs that reference all the 60s dances which are also song titles.
Night Shift, or does that go in the song within a song thread?
'and my favourite song's entitled 'Boredom''
i.e. the Buzzcocks song 'Boredom' and then they play the two-note guitar solo from the Boredom track
that's a double whammy right there
I told you about strawberry fields
You know the place where nothing is real
I told you about the walrus and me-man
You know that we're as close as can be-man
Well here's another clue for you all
The walrus was Paul.
Standing on the cast iron shore-yeah
Lady Madonna trying to make ends meet-yeah
I told you about the fool on the hill
I tell you man he living there still
Good one.
