Another choice is too grab a nice pair of boots at your local Macy's clearance rack, and waterproof them yourself.
Try you local uniform shops that cater to government agencies, they usually have boots that are waterproof for under a hundred dollars.
120-160 depending on style, but they will last. Plus the ole' dudes and the super. will respect the Redwing.
I like Danner's stuff. Costs more, but they fit great and last. If and when they finally die you can send them to the factory to be rebuilt.

$125 on sale. Get em -you'll love them.
I would also suggest buying shoes/boots one half a size too big and filling them with some gel inserts or extra padding. Makes a world of difference. Boots are heavy.
On a side note, this also works with most high heels.

This would also allow room for a pair of wool socks if it gets real, real cold. To quote my british hommies, "good advice, this."
Ive had my Danner's for 20 years. But these are Hiking boots.
redwing is the hit. plus they used to have a really good return policy. haven't worn them since 95 - thank god i got out of that job....
