http://www.hsalt.com/My parents used to go here a lot when I was a kid, still living in L.A., but that was ages ago. There was a fish & chips thread on another board and it reminded me of this place. After doing a quick search, I found a number of them have closed in recent years. I have no idea when I'll be in California any time soon, and while I realize there is probably better elsewhere, I'd like to visit this place if any are still around.So... any?

I looked there too, but it seems the website hasn't been updated in awhile, and I was hoping for a report from anyone who has seen them in recent weeks/months.
Followed closely by O'Briens on Wilshire...again, westside.
That's the only one I've ever been to. Does anyone ride for King's Head Pub (2nd and Santa Monica)?
That would be the last time I had them (and if we are to get technical, that would be... 1974/1975 maybe? Yikes.) It was probably one of my first food memories. That, and those strawberry wafer cookies I had when I was at that tiny tots daycare program or whatever it was.
I had fish and chips there once, it was pretty good...
theyre still there. korean run. not good by any stretch of the imagination. hey ry-ry, i didnt go out to the valley this week. next week?
King's Head is decent. Fish & chips isn't their strong suit, mainly for price - $15 for two over-battered pieces. Great beer selection, snaps on the walls of celebs looking drunk/surprised, authentic dishes like shepherd's pie.
Sure! It was pretty slick on the roads last week, so I'm glad you didn't make the venture over the hills
ha! hell yeah. though i been liking the rain. reminds me of the bay.
i bet the NE valley is looking beautiful right about now.
dont u live in echo park? theres that new morrocan spot that opened right next to the american apparel thing right there on sunset. its good!
