    heavy heavy excavation, no pain no gain

    just picked up a few packages from the post office - mostly trades with folks on soulstrut (cheers A**m & M****n)) & waxidermy -- pretty chuffed, there's a few long time wants crossed off the list:



    the first side of 50ft hose is melting my face at the moment...

    the 7' are:
    CHUBBY CHECKER - "the twist/ toot"

    it's good --- i'm not that into soul music () but it sounds great. sort of gospel-y and a bit funky. but the best track for me by a million miles is her cover of the Stones' "gimme shelter" that everyone knows -- thats why i got the album.

    i aint gonna lie. sovietbrakeukraineraers is not an area of expertise for me. have seen that record flossed in many o collections but didn't know the name. i do have some stuff on the same label i got from estonia and lithuania(baltic states) and everyone told me russian releases were very very limited due to communist leadership.
