    BACKLASH IS A HURTING THING.

Actually, a graemlin with crink's photo and the above phrase would be top-notch.

I'm guessing that all these pics are from the Blue Note cover scan pages at www.gokudo.co.jp, but thanks for the nifty .zips. I have thought about downloading all the pics before, but never got around to it. Nice to have someone else do the tedious work for you .

  • Now see, THIS is what I was expecting over in that "1965 jazz art" thread - actual covers, rather than a bunch of abstract, esoteric drawings. By now, Blue Note must rank as the most copied album cover design ever from one label, and I should be tired of seeing that style by now, but in the end you can't front on how brilliant those sleeves were.

Awesome, my favorite jazz label, now if someone could do the Chess/Cadet/Argo ones........

...and Fania, Prestige, Atlantic, Decca and Starday/King too!!!

Those Blue Note cover books were so successful I'm surprised no one tried this with other companies.

Yeah, it's a mystery to me too. An Impulse one would be nice as well. Verve.... the list just goes on & on really.

  • Graham Marsh, who did the blue note books, has done a couple of other books, covering other labels.
