I've heard some say A-K-O, but I just AKO.
I thought it was A KO
Mjukis
I always thought it was "mucus."
Mjukis is swedish for "softie" aka softbatch.
pronounced sort of like Mucus. Mew-kiss is correct i think.
Hor-Hay Lopesssss Roe-Iezz
that one in my head was M-Jukis.
and yeah, accent grave over the E. If I got at least one person to watch The Bank Dick then it was all worthwhile.
Actually, I put it in my Netflix queue after seeing it in this book:
But I recognized him from your avatar as soon as the movie started. I gave it 4 stars. Very entertaining. Mayhap someone will read this exchange and then see it, though?
I read WHITEY for some reason
And here I thought it was pronounced "bitter hipster shut-in".... hipster status noted...
Yeah, I'm old. It's pretty sad.
Have you filed the Soulstrut Hipster Change of Status Form?
I've also kinda wondered if Herm was a record-related reference to the San Francisco T.K.Os
Will I qualify for a senior discount on my classified ads?
What is the difference?
How do you pronounce faux?
voluMEN or Volume N?
At a certain age your hipster status gets revoked and you become "old weirdo" status. Old people are shuned in most hipster circles.
it's "goo-zoh", not "guh-zoh"
thnaks

management/S> helpIts volume in a different language. maybe frech. I know this because I sometimes accidentally change the language settings on my tv, and when I turn it up or down it says "volumen". Thats all. I don't know how you say it.
and faux and fo sounds the same as far as I'm concerned.
I think the confusion stems from the spelling. Intuitively, "Guzo" would be pronounced "goo-zoh." And "Guzzo" would be "guh-zoh."
Even worse is the old dudes who shun the young ones on some "I've been there and done that and you haven't" tip.
Last Saturday night at the ARC Show I witnessed one of the best record related scenes I've seen in years. We were at the GREAT Friends Of Sound store and for the most part the crowd was young....18-35 in my estimation.
Typically I'd have been the oldest one there but on this night John Dickson from Phoenix volunteered to spin some discs.
Not to show off or show up the younger guys, but to share his vast knowledge and experience.
And he absolutely killed it!!
Most of the old cranky record dudes scoff at the Hip-Hop/Beat Digger crowd.
Johnny D won them over and mutual respect was paid by all.
More of this should happen in our weird ass hobby.
Actually, the TKO's made a record-related reference to me!
Seriously though, my name is short for Hermilo. When I found that 45 some 6-7 years ago I bought it only because it had my name on it. It wasn't 'til a couple years ago that Jinx74 hipped me to its' rarity!
I thought your name was Samantha?
You will always be L.C. to me though.
