went round a few shops and picked up this little lot (apart from the jj band - which i got in a trade with mdejean - cheers m****n)
the "child" LP is Frickin' awesome sparce psych rock with punchy drums -- never heard of it before -- anyone know 'owt about it?
the 7's are:
TOM JONES -"looking out my window" TOM JONES - "hide and seek" THE IMPOSSIBLES - "mapadza no. 2" THOMAS MAPFUNO & THE ACID BAND - "mwana asina baba"
the last two are killer african 7's that were suprisingly cheap in the oxfam book and music --- amongst all the other really over priced rubbish in there!!

i've heard great things about that child record. pretty raer, no?

Not that raer in my experience. I got rid of my copy pretty quick, as I was not feeling the faux-vanilla-fudge moves, but other people seem to really like it.
Found lots of indie rock etc for the grip and flip but not many keepers
But this arrived in the mail today:
SCORCHER!
nice one! he does a wicked version of "the tide is high" on there. is yours an og? i got my copy from a reggae store in brooklyn so i don't know when it was pressed.
I haven't heard it in a while, but I got it cheaply on Ebay last year and remember being a little underwhelmed. Sometimes Im just not in the mood for that trying too hard, balls-out organ/fuzz sound with a touch of white guy blues. There's an interesting cover of "Hold On, I'm Coming" which, along with being a psychedelic rock LP on the Jubilee label, I guess is the selling point. The cover and gatefold is really cool, though.
No, I would have bid ... I just went looking to see what the "mislabeled" aspect was when you had mentioned it, and found it pretty easily. Nothing like a lazy listing to help score a bargain, huh?

thats the truth. i was watching down to the last second waiting for it to get sniped but had no troubles.
how do you search auctions that have already been completed?
how do you search auctions that have already been completed?
After you search for something, on the results page, on the left side is a box of "search options" - one of which is "completed items" - check that box and click search and voila.

Yeah this one is an original. Paste on cover and the ORG green and black Clocktower label with the black x. This is actually the same record as his Moving Out LP on Total Sounds.
a few bits my mum's boyfriend bought back with him form krakow last week and a few bits i bought cheap from a seller in hungary and forgot about
the Farida LP was a fun listen - with absolutley massive drums on a few tracks. the Maryla Rodowicz is absolutley trashed but was only a quid!!
need to listen to the rest properly but they all seem like a fairly patchy affair - hopefully with a few good tracks amongst them i can play out or summat. looking forward to getting my ears round the ENERGIT.

Yeah I've been awash in indie rock myself, somewhere a while belt misses his vinyl.
